Simone Peli

Research and Development Scientist Castellini Officine Meccaniche

The first part of Simone Peli career has been spent in the academic world (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Brescia, Università degli Studi of Milan, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (India), Elettra Sincrotrone in Trieste) as a researcher in the field of quantum materials studied by means of ultrashort pulses lasers. He has worked mainly in understanding the electronic dynamics which govern the amazing properties of quantum materials (cuprates, iridates, perovskites, etc.) and meta-materials (nano-spheres, nano-wires, micro ensemblse, etc.). The use of laser pulses with a time duration in the order of the femtoseconds is mandatory to carry on such kind of experiments.
In the last two years he has been working in Castellini Officine Meccaniche in the Research & Development department where we are adopting a scientific approach for studying the use of high-power industrial lasers in several production processes like laser cutting, laser welding, superficial treatment, laser cleaning; with the aim to develop innovative solutions based on solid technical foundations.
