The Global Home of Coil Winding

Diversity, Leadership and Innovation Take Centre Stage

04 Jun 2025 | Press Releases

Day two’s Women in Engineering panel explored how to improve gender diversity across the engineering community.

The Women in Engineering panel welcomed Dr Anna Ermakova, Javiera McGuiggan, Assistant Professor Dr. Lidija Tepes Golubic and Roberta Colombo who were joined on stage by moderator, Safinaz Aybar.

Aybar commented on the importance of having female representation in engineering businesses, as male and female brains work differently, so having all genders involved in the making of products and shaping of strategies is vital.

Elsewhere, there were talks from S&P Global Mobility, Aperam Alloys Imphy SAS, The International Copper Association, Marsilli, Siemens Energy Grid Technologies, ASTA Energy Solutions, TenneT TSO, Isovolta, Menzel Elektromotoren, DuPont and many more.

Throughout the five halls, there was a buzz, with many companies coming together to form new connections, meet existing contacts and propel the electrical manufacturing industry forward.

CWIEME Berlin also introduced a new feature, the C-Suite Club, for the first time today. Here, C-level executives came together to discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping their future, such as sustainability, digitalisation, supply chain transformation, the talent gap and geopolitical shifts.

At the Service and Solutions Centre, supported by EASA, a series of talks took place exploring key trends driving the electro-mechanical industry. Of course, this concluded with a Happy Hour, where speakers and visitors could continue conversations and celebrate a successful day.

This wasn’t the only celebration taking place across the show. CWIEME Berlin’s Happy Hour, beer tasting and ice cream carts returned to close another productive day, before minibuses escorted some to the AfterWinding Party, where festivities would continue into the evening.

CWIEME returns to Messe Berlin tomorrow for the third and final day. There’s still time to get your ticket and meet some of the most innovative companies in the electrical manufacturing industry. You can register for free on the CWIEME Berlin website.
