Dr. Karthik Reddy Venna is the Global Product Portfolio Manager for High Voltage Air-Insulated Switchgear at Siemens Energy, where he leads the global transition from SF₆ to SF₆-free switchgear solutions. His work focuses on bringing next-generation sustainable technologies to market and supporting the decarbonization of power infrastructure worldwide.
In his role, he drives portfolio strategy across R&D, manufacturing, and commercial teams, helping align technology development with customer needs, regulatory changes, and factory capabilities. His experience combines deep technical expertise with business and product leadership in the energy sector.
Before joining Siemens Energy, Dr. Venna worked at Siemens AG as Product Lifecycle and Sustainability Manager for Medium Voltage Gas-Insulated Switchgear, where he led sustainability initiatives and long-term product strategy. Earlier in his career, he managed R&D team for generator breaker technologies and contributed to international standardization activities through CIGRE and IEC working groups.
Dr. Venna holds a doctorate in Electrical Power Engineering from the Technical University of Cottbus-Senftenberg and has authored several technical publications. His areas of expertise include high-voltage engineering, vacuum switching technologies, and sustainable power systems.
