Prof. Henrik Stiesdal
Wind Power Pioneer Stiesdal A/S
Henrik Stiesdal is one of the pioneers of the modern wind industry. He was instrumental in the creation of the Danish wind industry in the 1970s and served in management positions in the industry until 2014, latest as CTO of Siemens Wind Power.
In 2016, Stiesdal founded a climate innovation company to develop floating offshore wind turbine foundations, low-cost green hydrogen electrolyzers, and technologies to combine carbon dioxide removal with production of carbon-negative fuels.
Stiesdal has been granted more than 1000 patents since 1980. He has also received numerous awards, including the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering, one of the most prestigious in the engineering world, recognising groundbreaking innovations that benefit humanity.
Stiesdal is an associate professor of the Danish Technical University and the University of Adelaide.
