Dr Yali Natalie Feng is Chief Electrical Engineer at Sulzer and a specialist in electromechanical design with deep expertise in electrical machine design and high‑voltage insulation.
She began her career as a junior machine designer for a motor OEM in China and later became a chartered engineer, leading the development of high‑efficiency IE2 and IE3 motors for the European market.
After moving to the UK, she spent seven years at the University of Manchester, completing a PhD that introduced a new analytical model for evaluating induction‑machine losses. She has also collaborated on R&D in superconducting technologies and nuclear power applications and has published six papers.
