Industry leaders tackle digitalisation, decarbonisation and geopolitical resilience

CWIEME Berlin returned for a busy second day at Messe Berlin on May 20, as attendees once again gathered from across the global electrical manufacturing supply chain to explore the trends, technologies and challenges shaping the future of electrification.

Activity continued across the exhibition floor and conference stages, and EEMODS, the leading international conference focused on improving the efficiency of electric motors, drives and motor-driven systems, carried on alongside the main exhibition programme.

Across the Central Grid and Electric Motor Forum stages, visitors attended a packed schedule of panel discussions and presentations. Key topics included digitalisation and smart grid intelligence, as well as the future of electric motors and the challenges currently facing the sector at a critical crossroads.

Discussions throughout the day also explored the industry’s wider transformation, including how businesses can decarbonise the copper value chain, approaches to material innovation and strategies for navigating geopolitical risks impacting global supply chains and manufacturing operations.

The C-Suite Club meeting took place in the morning and was hosted by advisory board member Chris Gerber, bringing together senior industry leaders for strategic conversations and networking opportunities.

Meanwhile, the exhibition floor remained busy as attendees connected with suppliers, discovered new technologies and continued conversations they had started during day one of the event.

“Exhibiting at CWIEME Berlin this year has been excellent so far. It’s only the beginning of day two, so it’s still a little early to give a full assessment, but the discussions have already been very positive,” said Francois Sinecha, Marketing Manager, Transformer Oil at ExxonMobil. “People are friendly, engaged and happy to be here, which creates a really good atmosphere.

“In terms of visitor quality, we’ve already met the people we were hoping to connect with, so we’re very happy with that. We’re also looking forward to having a few more important conversations over the rest of today and tomorrow.”

With one more day still to come, momentum continues to build across this landmark 30th anniversary edition of CWIEME Berlin. If you’d like to attend for the third and final day, you can visit the CWIEME Berlin website to register for a free ticket. The show opens at 9.30am.
