Franziska Giffey to deliver Keynote Speech at this year’s event
CWIEME Berlin, the world’s largest event for the coil winding, electric motor, transformer, generator and e-mobility supply chain welcomes Franziska Giffey as a keynote speaker. On June 3, 2025, attendees will have the chance to learn how Berlin plays a pivotal role in the future of the industry directly from the Deputy Governing Mayor herself.
Currently the Senator for Economy, Energy and Public Enterprises of Berlin, Franziska Giffey also served as Governing Mayor of Berlin from 2021 to 2023. Consistent contributions to advancing sustainability and e-mobility initiatives within the city makes her a very relevant speaker for the exhibition.
Berlin is striving to become a climate-neutral city and much of Giffey’s endeavours are aimed at this future-oriented goal. With initiatives like the Berlin Agency for Electromobility (eMO), which encourages the use of innovative mobility solutions, the capital city plays a key role in the energy and automotive industries.
CWIEME Berlin’s commitment to supporting women operating in male dominated fields also continues to pay off — as the first female mayor of Berlin, Giffey’s attendance can act as a beacon of inspiration for up-and-coming engineers. The Women in Engineering programme is also making a return, which provides a platform for dialogue on how to make the industry a more inclusive workplace.
“We’ve been working hard to make CWIEME Berlin the place to meet influential people of the industry,” explains Chris Lee, portfolio director for CWIEME events. “Being acknowledged by such an influential political party is a significant achievement for our event and we hope this opens the door to more opportunities like this in the future.”
“Franziska is one of the many inspiring speakers that will be sharing their experiences with us throughout the event. Through our CWIEME Talks platform, we offer a wealth of resources and this year we’re looking to make the exhibition an even more engaging and content-rich experience than ever.”
