CWIEME Berlin announces launch of Grid Delivery Summit
New conference will bridge gap between strategy and infrastructure delivery
CWIEME Berlin has announced the launch of its new Grid Delivery Summit for 2027. A dedicated platform designed to address one of the most pressing challenges facing the energy sector: turning grid strategy into deliverable infrastructure. The Grid Delivery Summit will connect the electrification value chain from utilities and grid operators to transform equipment OEMs, as well as global supply chain leaders and will take place May 11-12, 2027 alongside with CWIEME Berlin.
As electricity demand accelerates and grid investment requirements surge into the trillions, the industry is facing a growing disconnection between ambition and execution: project timelines stretching up to a decade, supply chains constraints delaying critical equipment and increasing congestion costs already impacting system performance. Bringing together those defining grid requirements with those responsible for delivering the materials, components and systems to meet them. The Summit is designed to address these challenges head on, facilitating direct collaboration through leadership, case studies, interactive discussions and curated networking to ensure that investment translates into real and scalable infrastructure.
Building on CWIEME Berlin’s central role within the global transformer and electrification ecosystem, the Summit will create a forum for open dialogue between stakeholders, encouraging a more integrated approach to problem-solving across traditionally siloed parts of the industry.
Key challenges to be addressed include manufacturing capacity constraints, supply chain dependencies, material availability, equipment lead times and workforce shortages, all of which are increasingly affecting the pace of grid infrastructure deployment.
“The energy transition has, at its core, a dynamic supply chain challenge.” Stated Adam Middleton, Director at EnergetIQ Advisory Limited. “Platforms like the Grid Delivery Summit, with a holistic ‘systems’ viewpoint, are essential in connecting the historically fragmented landscape of layers of suppliers, manufacturers and grid operators, creating the incrementally stronger alignment needed to deliver infrastructure efficiently and at scale. By fostering deeper, more dynamic collaboration across the value chain, the industry can move faster, improve throughput and with incrementally greater certainty.”
CWIEME Berlin’s Grid Delivery Summit marks a timely and strategic addition to the event, reflecting the urgent need for greater alignment across the electrification value chain. By convening key stakeholders and focusing on practical, delivery-focused solutions, the Summit aims to accelerate progress where it matters most—turning ambition into action. As the energy transition gathers pace, the event is set to play a pivotal role in shaping how grid infrastructure is planned, produced, and deployed at scale.
