Award Categories

Future Engineers

To recognise the next generation of engineers and showcasing career pathways across the electrical manufacturing industry. This award honours a standout project from a student or student team that shows clear innovation and industry relevance.

Entries should demonstrate:

  • Innovation and originality in concept or design
  • Solid engineering methodology and technical competence
  • Clear link to electrical manufacturing or the wider energy ecosystem
  • Real-world applicability or strong potential impact

Who should enter: University students, graduate teams, academic groups and early-career project teams.

CWIEME Sustainability and Leadership

To celebrate a company, individual or project that delivers meaningful progress on sustainability in manufacturing and product development. This award recognises those actively shaping a more sustainable future for industry and the planet through practical action.

Entries should demonstrate:

  • Reduced energy use, emissions or waste
  • Use of sustainable materials or improved product lifecycles
  • Leadership that drives organisational or industry-wide change
  • Proven impact supported by innovation and best practice

Who should enter: Companies, engineering teams, research groups, sustainability leaders and individuals driving impactful initiatives.

Product of the Year

To honour a product that stands out for both quality and innovation, with clear success from concept to real-world application. This award recognises the product and the team behind it, setting a new benchmark for the electrical manufacturing industry.

Entries should demonstrate:

  • Innovation in design, materials or functionality
  • Strong research, testing and development
  • Proven performance, benefits or measurable outcomes
  • Clear advantages over existing market solutions

Who should enter: R&D teams, engineering groups, manufacturers, product development teams and innovators.

CWIEME Engineer of the Year

To award an engineer or technical specialist who has delivered exceptional results in design, problem solving and project delivery. The recipient shows commitment to the industry and contributes to the wider electrical engineering community.

Entries should highlight:

  • Outstanding technical design, engineering skill or innovation
  • Successful delivery of complex projects or solutions
  • Tangible problem solving and creative thinking
  • Contributions through mentoring, leadership or industry advocacy

Who should enter: Engineers, technical specialists, researchers and project leaders at any career stage.

How to enter

Step 1

Choose your category & review key dates

Review the four award categories and select the one that best fits your project, product or individual achievement. You may enter multiple categories, but each entry must be submitted separately.

Plan your submission around the 2026 timeline:

  • Call for entries opens: 19 January 2026
  • Submission deadline: 13 April 2026
  • Awards ceremony at CWIEME Berlin: 21 May 2026, 10:00–11:00.

Step 2

Prepare your submission

Your written entry should be:

  • Be 1,000 to 1,500 words
  • Use clear, concise technical language
  • Be original, accurate and clearly attributable to the submitting organisation or individual

You can strengthen your submission with supporting materials such as: images, diagrams or schematics, performance data, test results or case studies, short videos or demonstrations.

All submissions must be in English.

Submit via email

  • Submit your application to enter the CWIEME Awards 2026 via email
  • Make sure to include your written submission and any supporting materials
  • Include your contact details so we can reach you if further information is needed

Step 4

Confirmation and next steps

Once submitted, you will receive confirmation of your entry.

Shortlisted finalists will be contacted ahead of CWIEME Berlin 2026 with details about the awards ceremony and any additional information required.
