Dr. DeeDee Smith is the Emobility Marketing Manager for Solvay Materials and has been with Solvay for 11 years. DeeDee has a PhD from Northwestern University (Chicago, IL) in organic chemistry and started her career at Solvay working in R&D roles examining sustainable monomers and fillers for next generation polymers. She has also develop new products in Amodel® PPA, Ryton® PPS, and Ixef® PArA for the automotive market. After several years in R&D, DeeDee took her technical expertise to a commercial role and worked directly with automotive customers to identify solutions for their applications. In her current role, she has global responsibility for setting the strategy around Solvay Materials in eMotor applications including insulation materials for EV magnet wire and slot liners. She works cross-functionally with R&D to design innovative new products for the next generation of eMotors and is passionate about working directly with customers to bring new concepts to market.
