Accelerating Material Innovation for Electrical Insulation
This session offers a focused look behind the scenes of recent material development work for high performance electrical insulation papers and boards.
Using unbleached kraft pulp as an example, we explore how key quality parameters such as conductivity, purity, and metal ion content set the performance limits of insulation materials used in transformers and capacitors. The session highlights what we learned through targeted trials, tighter process control, and close customer feedback, and which levers proved most critical when pushing material performance further.
The speech also touches on how responsible fiber sourcing and low carbon pulps can be integrated into advanced electrical applications, showing how innovation, performance, and sustainability can be developed in parallel.
