The Global Meeting Place for the Electrical Manufacturing Supply Chain

How CWIEME Berlin 2026 brought the electrical manufacturing industry together

CWIEME Berlin Portfolio Director Melissa Magestro shares how the shifting needs of the industry are shaping the next chapter of the global meeting place for the electrical manufacturing supply chain.

As the electrical manufacturing industry continues to evolve, so does CWIEME Berlin.

In a recent interview, Portfolio Director Melissa Magestro shared how CWIEME Berlin 2026 expanded its focus to reflect the challenges and opportunities facing manufacturers, suppliers, engineers and utilities across the value chain.

While CWIEME Berlin has long been recognised as the global meeting place for transformer, motor and e-mobility innovators, the event is creating even more opportunities for collaboration by bringing together organisations involved in transmission and distribution, grid infrastructure and electrical manufacturing.

"We're following the challenges our community is facing," Melissa explains. "It's no longer just about transformer manufacturing. It's about connecting the supply chain all the way through to the end user, including utilities, TSOs, DSOs and EPCs."

This broader approach is reflected in several new features introduced at CWIEME Berlin 2026.

One of the biggest developments is the expansion of transmission and distribution content, including a dedicated T&D Club and 13 new conference sessions led by utilities, transmission system operators and distribution system operators. These additions create more opportunities for manufacturers, suppliers and grid operators to exchange knowledge and build the partnerships needed to strengthen Europe's energy infrastructure.

The event also continues its commitment to supporting the next generation of engineering talent. The Future Engineers programme has grown significantly, introducing new partners and a mentoring initiative that connects experienced professionals with those entering the industry. By helping to bridge the skills gap, CWIEME Berlin is supporting both today's workforce and the future of electrical manufacturing.

Another major addition is the Electric Motor Forum, a dedicated space bringing together suppliers, manufacturers and industry experts to explore the technologies, challenges and opportunities shaping the electric motor sector. From technical discussions to networking opportunities, the forum creates a focused environment for collaboration across one of the industry's fastest growing markets.

Looking beyond 2026, Melissa also revealed plans for the launch of the Grid Delivery Summit in 2027. Running alongside CWIEME Berlin, the two day conference will bring together manufacturers, suppliers, utilities and grid operators to focus on one shared objective: delivering grid infrastructure more effectively through closer collaboration.

Despite the new features and expanded content, Melissa believes one thing remains at the heart of CWIEME Berlin.

"The technology is incredible, the suppliers are outstanding and the conference programme is packed with insight. But what really stands out is the community. The conversations you have here and the relationships you build are what move this industry forward."

As the industry works to accelerate electrification, strengthen supply chains and modernise energy infrastructure, CWIEME Berlin continues to provide the platform where ideas become partnerships and collaboration drives progress.
