Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Westrafo

Alberto Cracco is a Management Engineer with extensive experience in the transformer and energy sector. He graduated in 2003 from the University of Padua and began his career as a management consultant at one of the leading private consulting firms in North-East Italy. During this period, he also completed an MBA program in Italy, further strengthening his managerial and strategic expertise.

From 2006 to 2014, Alberto held senior roles as Sales Manager and Business Development Manager within the transformer industry, developing strong international market expertise and a solid background in commercial strategy and industrial operations.

In 2014, he founded Westrafo, establishing a company focused on innovation and sustainability in power transformer manufacturing. The Group quickly embarked on an international growth path: in 2015, Westrafo Ghana was established to serve the African market, followed in 2024 by the launch of Westrafo America, a 23,000-square-meter facility created to support expansion in the North American market.

In 2025, Westrafo entered a new phase of development when 70% of the company was acquired by the private equity fund Nextalia. Alberto remains Chief Executive Officer and continues to lead the Group’s strategic direction, ensuring continuity in vision, operational excellence, and long-term growth.

Under his leadership, Westrafo has developed a distinctive market positioning based on sustainability and environmental responsibility. The company’s unique value proposition lies in the use of natural ester oil for transformer insulation, a biodegradable and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional mineral oil, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the global energy transition.
