A successful first day at CWIEME Berlin has come to a close at Messe Berlin.
The event kicked off with a welcome speech from Senior Content Manager, Alexandra da Fonte Martins, in which she shared that there would be over 90 speakers taking to the stage across the next three days, discussing topics including electrification, automation and supply chain resilience.
On day one, Javiera McGuiggan, Assistant Vice President at Cargill BioIndustrial – Power Systems, was Master of Ceremonies for the central stage. Here, she was joined by speakers including Hassan Zaheer, Saqib Saeed, Mario Viarengo, Martin Stossl, Dr Pawel Rozga, Kirsi Seppalainen and Marcel Hilgers.
The E-Mobility stage once again proved popular among visitors, with speakers from Cranfield University, IMA Automation, McKinsey & Company, thyssenkrupp and many more.
CWIEME Berlin also had the pleasure of welcoming Franziska Giffey, Berlin State Senator for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises. During her visit, Giffey visited some of the event’s key features and shared her thoughts on how great it is to have such an innovative event held in Berlin – the epicentre of the entire electrical engineering industry.
Elsewhere, CWIEME’s Innovation Zone housed the most cutting-edge and groundbreaking new businesses in the coil winding and electrical manufacturing industry. During the day, each exhibitor had the opportunity to take to the stage and present their company and technology to an audience.
The country pavilions returned, with dedicated spaces for exhibitors from India, Czech Republic and Switzerland. The Academic Excellence Hub expanded for 2025, with representatives from universities and research centres from across the world exhibiting.
With so much to see, visitors were thankful for the new addition, Electric Avenue, which guided them around the five halls, ensuring they didn’t miss a thing.
With the sun shining, attendees were happy to see the popular beer gardens return, this year with an indoor Bavarian Village, where beer tasting was available in the final hour of the event.
The day closed with a Community Welcome Party in the Berlin sun. Here, attendees had the opportunity to reflect on a successful day and continue the meaningful conversations they had started during the exhibition — of course, with a beer in hand.
We look forward to welcoming attendees back tomorrow and hope to see new faces too. If you’d like to attend, you can still register as a visitor on our website. We hope to see you tomorrow in Berlin!
