Dr. Ahmed Al Marzooqi

Vice President of Asset Management Etihad Water & Electricity

Ahmed Hassan Almarzooqi is the Vice President of Asset Management at Etihad Water and Electricity Company, where he leads a multidisciplinary team responsible for the organization’s Asset Management System, Network Planning, Standards and Specifications, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). His work focuses on advancing utility performance through strategic asset governance, data driven planning, and the integration of modern engineering systems.

With more than 17 years of experience in the electricity and water sector, Ahmed has held key technical and managerial roles across the UAE. He previously served as an Inspection Engineer at the Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority (ADWEA) and later as Manager of Distribution Asset Management – Substations at Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), where he oversaw ISO 55001 compliance, asset acquisition processes, and lifecycle performance monitoring.

Ahmed earned his PhD in 2024 with research centred on energy trading within electricity distribution networks. His broader research interests include Smart Grids, Smart Cities, Asset Management Systems, Reliability and Maintenance, and Engineering Systems Management.
He is a Senior Member of IEEE and an active member of both the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Institute of Asset Management (IAM).
