Jihane Zouhair

Senior Engineer, Powertrain Department Toyota Motor Europe

Jihane Zouhair is 30 years old, senior engineer at Toyota Motor Europe. Her background is industrial engineering and has a Master’s in innovation and technology management. She has started her career in automotive and has joined Toyota 7 years ago. She is part of the engine design team (powertrain) but she also had the chance to pursue rotations in quality, value chain and this year CO2 planning team. As part of her position, she has engaged in many activities advocating for diversity increase in the engineering jobs, mainly taking a step as a role model for young girls.

Thanks to initiatives at Toyota, she engaged with Inspiring girls Belgium and ‘Girl STEM the future’ (Toyota internal program) to encourage young girls to step into ‘technical’ careers and in STEM studies in general.  She is fully convinced that diversity in the workplace is a fundamental prerequisite to reach gender equality. She is really enthusiastic and optimistic about this topic as she witnesses positive changes in the corporate world, even with her rather short professional experience.
