Prof. Thomas Norrby
Technical Manager & Senior Specialist -Lubricants and Electrical Industry Nynas AB
Thomas Norrby was born in Stockholm, Sweden. In 1997, he graduated with a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry with a Thesis on Artificial Photosynthesis, from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.
His current position with Nynas AB is as Technical Manager for the application area Electrical Industry. His main tasks include Naphthenic base oil products development and applications, transformer oil formulation, testing and application model studies. Tasks include also leading technical demonstrator project for Nynas, and delivering technical marketing, lecturing and presentations. He has wide experience from several other business segments at Nynas, like lubricants and tyre process oil applications.
Thomas Norrby also holds a chair as Adjunct Professor at KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), at the Department of Engineering Design. The focus of his industrial research is tribology and Tribochemical investigations of base oils and lubricants.
