Managing Director MIDEL & MIVOLT Shell
Richard was appointed as Managing Director at MIDEL & MIVOLT Fluids Ltd on 1st Jan 2024. Richard is a relative newbie to the transformer industry, but brings passion and expertise about the energy transition and technology. Previously, he led Shell’s Global Key Accounts organisation for fleet and E-mobility customers. Since joining Shell in 2007, he has held a number of operational and commercial roles in Shell Downstream. He has lived in Europe, South Africa and Canada. He also holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Warwick Business School. Richard is married to Vicky; they have four children and live in Cheshire, UK (very close to MIDEL’s production facility in Manchester!).

By adding synthetic and natural ester-based transformer fluids and services to its portfolio, Shell Lubricants aims to deliver improved fire protection and biodegradability to its customers.
