Two important items being analysed are the pertinence of higher energy performance standards, as well as the introduction of circular economy requirements. The European Copper Institute has conducted a quantitative comparison between various scenarios and design strategies, determining the total cost of ownership and the impact in terms of material use and life cycle assessment.
