Advancing Transformer Insulation: Non-Standard Lightning Impulse Testing of Dielectric Liquids for Transformers

During this session, we will discuss the findings from original experimental studies concerning lightning performance of a variety of dielectric liquids applied in power transformers. The issues presented come from the joint research of academia and industry. An approach to new types of tests aimed at verification of dielectric properties of insulating liquids will be presented.

  • Presentation of experimental studies on the lightning performance of various dielectric liquids used in power transformers
  • Overview of new non-standard lightning impulse tests for verifying the dielectric properties of insulating liquids
  • Insights into the dielectric properties critical for transformer performance and safety
  • Case studies: Collaboration between academia and industry in advancing testing methodologies and research in dielectric liquids
