Empowering the Energy Transition: The Role of on-load tap-changer Equipped Transformers in Grid Sust
Decarbonisation of the energy sector is very important to stay on track for the 1,5°C climate target. Renewable energies such as wind are significantly contributing to the goal of reducing CO2 emissions. Transformers equipped with on-load tap-changers are key components for energy transition in all voltage levels of energy supply networks as well as in a nacelle. Due to the special nature of wind energy generation, specific requirements may be placed on these transformers, such as compact, lightweight and rupture-proof design. These requirements can also be relevant in other applications.
This presentation highlights the latest developments in the transformer and on-load tap-changer sector leading the way to a sustainable energy supply.
• Latest developments in the transformer and on-load tap-changer sector leading the way to a sustainable energy supply
• Specific requirements for transformers in application like nacelles
• Rupture-proof transformer design for application other than nacelles
